Competition Team Boxing

For the Boxer Who Wants to Get in the Ring

The AWBC Competition Team is a training pathway for dedicated athletes who are excited to test their skills in sanctioned boxing competitions. This program is not for everyone, and that is completely okay. The Competition Team exists for members who want to explore competitive boxing in a supportive, structured environment that prioritizes athletic development and long-term growth.

Competition Team athletes continue to train within AWBC’s core program by regularly attending All Levels and Advanced Boxing classes, while also completing additional strength and conditioning work and attending occasional additional sparring sessions. Training focuses on applying advanced skills to real situations, developing Ring IQ, building confidence, and developing the physical and mental readiness needed for competition. Throughout the process, communication and safety remain central to how we train.

Members who are interested in competing are encouraged to start a conversation with Coach Julia. Expressing interest does not mean an immediate commitment to fighting. Instead, it opens the door to ongoing discussions about goals, readiness, and what additional preparation is needed. Coach Julia works closely with athletes to determine when they are truly ready to step into competition, always with care, intention, and safety in mind.

The AWBC Competition Team competes in USA Boxing sanctioned bouts at the local, regional, and national levels. When athletes compete, they do so with the full support of their coaches and teammates, representing Austin Women’s Boxing Club with skill, professionalism, and pride.

For those who choose this path, the Competition Team offers an opportunity to challenge yourself, build resilience, and experience the unique growth that comes from stepping into the ring.
