Self Defense Workshops

2022 & 2023 Austin Chronicle Best of Austin Winner – Self Defense

In our self defense workshops, you will learn and practice realistic and useful self-defense techniques in a hands-on environment. We will address real world situations and how to defend yourself against chokes, grabs, holds, and more.

Unless otherwise noted, our self-defense workshops are appropriate for women and girls ages 12 and up. Our workshops are inclusive to the trans and non-binary community. We hold these workshops on site at Austin Women’s Boxing Club.

Our latest Dates and Curriculum

April 14th – Defense Against Wall Pins — Practice escaping from someone trying to trap you against a wall.

April 28th – College Prep Self Defense — For ages 17-22. Learn to navigate the unique safety considerations of a college campus with physical self defense skills and conflict de-escalation strategies that help prevent the need for fighting back

May 19th – Defense Between Your Legs — Practice attacking from your back against someone trying to get between your legs.

June 2nd – Defense against ground-and-pound — Practice protecting yourself from injury and escaping when someone is trying to pin you to the ground. 

June 16th – Assert Yourself for Teens — For ages 12-17. Build confidence by practicing acting quickly under stress to fight back. Learn the difference between conflicts that require fighting and those that you can solve without it. 

All dates are on Sundays from 11:30-1pm.

Price: $50 for a single session
