Learn the foundations of personal safety and effective self-defense.
Participants practice situational awareness, boundary setting, and verbal self-defense, along with simple striking techniques designed for real-world situations. The physical portion of the workshop focuses on kicks, knee strikes, elbow strikes, and heel-palm strikes, practiced safely using protective pads and punching bags.
Participants will also learn escapes from single-hand and double-hand grabs, helping them break free and create space if someone grabs them.
Perfect for first-time participants who want to build confidence and learn practical safety skills.

This workshop begins with a review of the striking techniques learned in Self-Defense 101. From there, participants learn what to do if a situation goes to the ground.
Skills include how to fall safely, how to get back up quickly, and simple escapes from common ground situations. Training uses controlled partner drills and so participants can learn safely and confidently.
This workshop helps participants feel more prepared, more capable, and more confident in unexpected situations.
Our private self-defense workshops are 90-minute sessions designed specifically around you. We tailor each workshop to your daily routines, environment, and personal concerns—whether that’s navigating parking garages, running alone, or boundary setting with strangers. You’ll learn practical, real-world strategies rooted in self-defense fundamentals such as striking or escapes, situational awareness, and confidence-building, all in our supportive, women-only space.
