How did you get involved with AWBC?
I did Kajukenbo for a while when I was little, and I loved how it made me feel so strong. Now, I really wanted to get into a martial art so that not only I can stay active and feel strong, but I can progress in it as I get older. I especially love the all- women community, as whenever I was sparring with the boys when I was younger, they’d either not want to hit me, or REALLY want to hit me. I think boxing, especially at AWBC was a perfect choice.
What’s your favorite part about being a member?
My favorite part about being a member of the AWBC is probably how a place like this lets you progress. It helps you grow as a boxer, and a person. Boxing has given me so many lessons that can translate even outside of the ring.
What’s your favorite punch or combo?
My favorite combo is probably a 2-5b-6.
Do you have a favorite pro boxer or martial artist?
It would probably have to be Holt McCallany
What do you do outside of boxing? Are you a student? Do you work?
I’m a student and I’m a Hebrew school teacher (part- time).
Any hobbies or passion projects?
I crochet and I play piano and guitar.
What's your "walkout song?"
"Crazy Train"- Ozzy Osbourne
Can you give us two of your favorite musical artists and two of your favorite music genres to work out to?
I really like Paramore, Marina, ABBA, and Mariah Carey.
How has AWBC changed your life?
AWBC has made me so confident, stronger, and has gave me some forever friends. Every time I go into boxing, I think that these are people that have my back, and love me in the long run- even if sometimes they beat me up. I wouldn’t trade that for anything.
